Scholarships
Yellowstone Valley Electric Cooperative is committed to enhancing the quality of life in our community. One way to provide this is to offer scholarships.
Scholarships are funded from the Cooperative’s General Fund and by the establishment of a Donated Capital Credit Fund. The applicant or the applicant’s parent/guardian must be receiving electric service from YVEC and be a member, and not be an employee or board member. The applicant must be a graduating high school senior or college student who will be enrolling in a full time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college, university, or vocational technical school for the upcoming fall term.
YVEC offers seven $1,000 general scholarships that are based on academic achievement, personal statement, and community activities. Deadline will be March 22, 2013.
YVEC Scholarship Application
YVEC offers six $500 “Luck of the Draw” Scholarships. Either the applicant or the parent must be present for the drawings at the annual meeting which will be held March 19, 2013. Application deadline will be March 15, 2013.

Montana Electric Cooperatives’ Association (MECA) offers two $500 scholarships to any college bound undergraduate students. The applicant’s parents must be receiving electric service from YVEC and be a member and the scholarships may be used at a
Montana college, university or at an out-of-state institution. Funds for these scholarships come from donations that honor the memories of deceased directors, managers, and employees who have served the electric cooperative.
MECA Scholarship Application
MECA scholarship applications need to be turned in to the YVEC office by January 31, 2013. Applications will be judged by YVEC’s scholarship committee and a finalist will be selected for submission to MECA.
