Yellowstone Valley Electric Cooperative is committed to enhancing the quality of life in our community. One way to provide this is to offer scholarships.
Scholarships are funded from the Cooperative’s General Fund and by the establishment of a Donated Capital Credit Fund. The applicant or the applicant’s parent/guardian must be receiving electric service from YVEC and be a member, and not be an employee or board member. The applicant must be a graduating high school senior or college student who will be enrolling in a full time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college, university, or vocational technical school for the upcoming fall term.
YVEC offers twelve $1,000 general scholarships for students enrolling in an accredited four year college or university. Scholarships are based on academic achievement, personal statement, and community activities. Deadline will be March 13, 2020.
Ray Michels Memorial Scholarship
YVEC offers two $1000 Ray Michels Memorial scholarships for students enrolling in an accredited two year college, vocational or technical school. Scholarships are based on academic achievement, personal statement, and community activities. Deadline will be March 13, 2020.

The applicant’s parents must be receiving electric service from YVEC and be a member and the scholarships may be used at a Montana college, university or at an out-of-state institution. Funds for these scholarships come from donations that honor the memories of deceased directors, managers, and employees who have served the electric cooperative.
MECA scholarship applications need to be turned in to the YVEC office by January 24, 2020. Applications will be judged by YVEC’s scholarship committee and a finalist will be selected for submission to MECA.
Basin Electric Power Cooperative (BEPC) offers a $1000 scholarship to students enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time graduate or undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four year college, university or vocational/technical school.
