Line Extensions

Line Extensions

When electrical line extensions and changes are required, an engineer will meet with the customer to offer line routing options. Staking will be done to determine the arrangement of poles, wire, and service points. When the staking is finalized, a complete cost estimate will be presented.

The final cost will be based on the actual construction expense and line extension fees will be assessed according to YVEC policies. For line extensions costing up to $2,000 a prepayment equal to 50% of the estimated cost is needed. Line extensions costing more than $2,000 to construct require a prepayment of 50% of the estimated cost up to the $2,000 and 100% of the portion exceeding $2,000.
